Make necessary modification to your system to adopt the look of Windows Vista.

Vistapack is a shell for Windows based on the XPize installer. Its main aim is to allow Windows 2000 and Windows XP users to enjoy the graphic look of Windows Vista, without having to pay for anything or make great internal changes.

There are over 240 files in Windows that Vistapack modifies. This pack also incorporates some extras, like support for 32-bit icons in Windows 2000, the cursor schemes and sounds of Vista, a personalized startup screen or even your own screensaver.

Vistapack uses ResHacker to change icons, bitmaps and some system dialogue. All this so that your PC looks as much like Windows Vista as possible.

The installer makes a backup of the file it modifies. Then it makes all the necessary changes to the original file, those that need it to get the Windows Vista look. When this operation is finished, the file is returned to its place in the system, and when the PC is restarted the changes will take place.

But Vistapack also offers some advantages, for example the ´Reloader´. This small program runs on Windows start up and checks if any file has been changed. This can happen if you get a Microsoft update, or you have recently visited the Windows Update website.

When it detects a modified file, the program ´Reloads´ that file with the Vista resources. This way, when you next restart the PC it will return to the Vista look. So, as you can see it not only changes your PC look to Windows Vista, it also keeps it that way.
